Limited-edition UMID mbook Pink now available from Dynamism

Mbook_pink1 As of today, there is now one more variation of the UMID mbook M1 that we have reviewed a few times, and it comes with limited-edition appeal and color. Yes, the picture to the left is correct. That is the new mbook Pink, not to be confused with the pop artist of the same name. Even though we have seen this color before, since there originally was going to be a rainbow of colors, this is the first time the two-tone design is available from Dynamism. It appears to have a matte finish, keeping the same theme as the black mbook M1 recently seen here.

Normally I wouldn't be posting about a pink device, but since Jenn is busy with other things right now, I'll go ahead and accept the responsibility. Continue reading past the break for the specs and a few more pics if pink is your thing.

With a price of $449, the mbook Pink comes in at $50 less than the base model black mbook M1, mainly because it is available only in a low-end configuration with a slightly slower processor and no available 3G option.

Here is a rundown of the main specs:

  • Intel Atom Z515 @ 1.2GHz
  • 4.8" touchscreen (1024×600)
  • 8GB SSD
  • 512MB RAM
  • 802.11b/g & Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
  • Webcam
  • 2400 mAh 7.4V battery
  • Windows XP Home

Overall, this would seem to make a nice gift for a wife or a mother, even a mother-in-law (hey, stranger things have happened!). The two-tone design is at least unique for UMID, and the special color might be an indicator of what options there will be for the all-new mbook M2 when it is released sometime next year.

Not exactly my cup of tea…..

But I’m concerned with your statement “the all-new mbook M2 when it is released sometime next year.”
Thought that I’d read that UMID was going to release M2 as early as November this year….but figured it might take a bit longer than that…

So, have you heard something that really suggests that we won’t see M2 until next year??

If so, then I may want to get something else now….to tide me over…. ;)

  • I haven’t heard anything about the M2 being delayed, it was more of an assumption since we are already at the end of November without another sighting of it for the past few months. Plus, with CES in january, it seems like the ideal time to intro the M2. From there, a month or two before availability.

If I remember correctly, that M2 prototype was pretty rough around the edges, so UMID is probably still working on the design and specs.
