Cowon V5 HD PMP runs WinCE: MID possibilities?

Cowon_v5_1
Cowon has officially announced its latest full-featured PMP, the V5 HD. The device comes in a variety of capacities with 8, 16, and 32GB variants and features some impressive media-centric specifications including a 4.8" WVGA touch screen, playback of full HD (H.264) video files, 45 hour battery life for audio playback and 10 hours for video, SD card slot, support for most major audio/video formats, and HDMI, S-video, and composite video outputs.

One of the more interesting specifications is that the operating system for the V5 HD is WinCE 6.0, which begs the question whether the OS is merely WinCE-based or a full installation that opens up a much greater range of functions (including MID possibilities) and allows users the ability to install WinCE-compatible apps.

There isn't any confirmation of this now and the current screenshots of the interface look to be customized, but there is mention of some basic included apps including a world clock, RSS reader, voice recorder, games, and an optional T-DMB tuner. Chances of a future app store perhaps?

The PMP will be available in black, white, silver, and pink, and is set to be released in South Korea on January 1, 2010, with the 8GB unit selling for 299,000 KRW (around US$256).
