Atom-based Inkia MID500 with XP Home starts at $349

It isn't often that an obscure Chinese device first discovered over six months ago actually becomes easily available for purchase from a reputable retailer, so it's well worth mentioning when Dynamism begins selling the Inkia MID500 and prices the base model at just $349. What that will get you is a 12-ounce slate measuring 6.5 x 3.9 x 0.9 inches with a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen, 1.1GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB SSD, Windows XP Home, webcam, and optical mouse with mouse buttons. For an extra $100, you can get the device with a roomier 32GB SSD.

Order by January 15th and Dynamism will include a free carrying case valued at $30.

The specs aren't phenomenal and I don't know what Inkia's build quality is like, but $349 is still an attractive price for an Atom-powered MID with 1GB of RAM and XP.
