EKING S515 slide-and-tilt MID priced at $499 for a limited time

Other things being equal, would you rather have a clamshell MID with 512MB of RAM and a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen OR a slide-and-tilt MID with 1GB of RAM and a 5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen?

That's the question you'll need to answer when deciding whether to spend $499 on the low-end UMID BZ or the EKING S515 now available for preorder through Dynamism. Both devices run Windows XP (despite the promo photo above) on 1.2GHz Atom processors and 16GB SSDs; have 0.3MP webcams, full keyboards, and similar navigational controls; and are equipped with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and 802.11b/g WiFi. Different form factors mean different dimensions/weights and port types/placements, of course, but if you're looking to part with $499 for a new MID, you still have a decision to make.

The EKING S515, like the UMID BZ, is actually priced at $549 but can be had for $50 less because of Dynamism's CES launch event special. Use promo code EKCESP from now until January 15th for the discounted price.
