XPERIA X10 looks primed to be a hit

The X10 was one of those devices that I had been desperately wanting to check out here at the show, but with all of what’s going on, I had forgotten about it until I wandered into Sony’s booth.

Here it is, the current challenger to the HTC HD2 and the Google Nexus One for the title of “king of the smartphones.” I have yet to see an HD2, but my money is on the X10.

Some early reviews stated that there was some horrible lag in the UI, but let me tell you, it has been cleaned up and tweaked. No lag, the action is very smooth, and the capacitive screen is very light to the touch as it should be.

Remember, this has an 8.1MP camera and Sony does have a little experience with cameras, so it gives the X10 a little advantage over all of the other 5MP smartphones.
