Looks like iPhone OS 3.2 is right around the corner
With all the excitement today over a certain large-screened tablet being available for pre-ordering, it looks like Apple is getting all their ducks in a row in regards to the iPhone OS, and now it appears that version 3.2 will be here sooner rather than later. While updating some apps last night on my iPhone, I noticed this little tidbit of info you see in the screenshot to the left.
There has been quite a bit of chatter lately about how version 4.0 will finally support native multi-tasking, but since we are currently at 3.1.3, the jump to 3.2 will probably bring some more subtle fixes like iBookstore support. For those of you running with a non-jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch, this might be of more interest to you, but if you're currently enjoying the spoils of a jailbroken device, then there is nothing to see here.
I am not giving up my jailbroken iPhone's much-enhanced functionality until Apple decides to include the same features that Backgrounder, Kirikae, My3G & MyWi, SBSettings, BTstack Keyboard, and SprintBoard all provide. In the meantime, my pre-ordered iPad will have to suffice for my OS 3.2 fix.
