Viliv N5 gets possible May release date

Viliv_n5_may There hasn't been much news about the highly anticipated Viliv N5 lately and with only a few weeks left in March, which is when some were expecting to be able to purchase it, I'd say it's time for an update. So I asked Viliv when customers might be able to get their hands on the 1.33GHz Atom Z520-powered clamshell MID/UMPC with its 4.8" WSVGA touchscreen, 32GB SSD, 1GB of RAM, and Windows 7 operating system.

My contact said the company was reluctant to announce an official date since there's still plenty of time for things to change, but the plan right now is to release the Viliv N5 in May. If this target date can be met, then review units will be distributed to Pocketables (yay!) and other sites at the end of April.

Even though this is just a projected timeline and the release could still be delayed for whatever reason, the possibility of being able to finally see this device in the flesh (you may remember that I had to skip CES this year because of my newborn) is pretty exciting. Regardless of whether the N5 arrives at my door next month or much later, I'm really looking forward to it!

Does this possible release date change anyone's impending gadget purchase plans?
