Pasen launches media-centric MID5 tablet

Pasen_mid5_1

It looks like after its low-key introduction, the Rockchip 2808 processor is becoming popular in the emerging value tablet market. Joining the Archos 7 and 8, RAmos W7, and Tongfang Q5 in the Rockchip club is the new MID5 tablet from Pasen of Italy.

Sporting a 5-inch WVGA touch screen, the MID5 is clearly positioned as a media-centric device in the vein of Archos' offerings, with its very wide ranging audio and video codec support, 720p HD video playback, and in-built HDMI output.Other known specs are limited but include WiFi, support for microSDHC (up to 32GB), USB OTG, and a 2300mAh battery for 4.5 hours of video playback, 10 hours of music playback, or 4 hours of web browsing.

There's currently no word on availability or the final price, but Pasen is aiming to offer the MID5 for around $199 when it is released. Hopefully more information regarding the hardware and its expected release will filter out in the near future. In the meantime, head over to the official product page for the a closer look at this upcoming tablet.
