eviGroup Wallet launch date set for May 21

Wallet_capWe knew that the eviGroup Wallet MID went into production last month and was expected to launch this month, but since it's not uncommon for companies to miss their promised release dates, it's always better to take a "believe it when you see it" approach when dealing with smaller companies.

Since we're already more than halfway through May and eviGroup hasn't made any announcements, the likelihood of the device actually being launched on time was beginning to look a bit bleak. That's why when the tipster who first outed the 5"-screened Wallet MID to the world back in August sent me this screen capture from the company's internal website today, it was good to see what eviGroup has planned for this Friday, May 21st.

Although the Wallet MID has only an ARM11 CPU while other similarly sized Android MIDs are powered by Cortex A8s and Snapdragons, the €199 (~$252) target price isn't too bad if you don't know about or want the more powerful 8GB Archos 5 Androidir?t=pocketables 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B0039VSF9A - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here ($250) or the larger-screened Archos 7 Home Tabletir?t=pocketables 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B003COZM2C - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here ($200). Your call.
