HP rumored to be working on Hurricane webOS tablet for Q3 release

Hp_hurricane_rumor Following HP's acquisition of Palm at the end of last month, we wondered about the possibilities and devices we could expect from the merged company. The thought of a new tablet running Palm's webOS, backed up by hints dropped by company executives, was an especially exciting possibility.

The Examiner has now reported this could become a reality with industry insiders stating that HP is in fact working on just such a tablet codenamed the HP Hurricane, running webOS with a prospective release date in the third quarter of this year. Unfortunately no other details are known, leaving the rest to speculation and our imaginations for now.

We previously hoped that HP/Palm would bring webOS to a smaller 5- to 7-inch tablet to rival the highly anticipated Dell Mini 5/Streak. What are your thoughts of the possibility of a webOS tablet? Would such a device be able to compete in a market overwhelmingly populated by devices running Google's Android OS?
