Outdoor photos taken with HTC EVO 4G’s back camera

IMAG0067

Wondering what kind of photo quality the HTC EVO 4G's 8-megapixel back camera is capable of producing? I've uploaded 71 unedited 3264 x 1952 pictures taken on two very sunny days here in Hawaii to my Flickr photostream so you can get an idea of what to expect from the camera's default settings under optimal lighting conditions.

I'll continue to test the camera under different scenarios (indoors, low light, with flash, etc.) but thought I'd start with natural sunlight for the best results. I've chosen some of the best examples of its strengths and weaknesses (above and below) as an appetizer, but you can indulge in the full feast on Flickr.

You'll see that although the dynamic range needs improvement and too much sun actually makes the day look overcast, the camera takes pretty good close-ups (I've purchased a separate lens add-on that should make it even better – review to come) and isn't too bad for nature photography.

Click any photo to go to its photo page, where you can view it in different sizes.
