When Android 2.2 becomes available for the HTC EVO 4G in the second half of this year, I don't think anyone will think twice about updating. But just in case you have some reservations or aren't sure of what you'd be getting, here's a list of the new version's main improvements.

- Alphanumeric password lock
- Permanent home screen "dock" with shortcuts to app launcher, phone, and browser.
- Camera portrait mode, zoom controls, easier access to settings, thumbnails, and exposure data
- Camcorder LED flash and easy way to optimize for YouTube and MMS
- Tethering and portable hotspot support (the EVO already has hotspot functionality for $30/month)
- Multiple keyboard languages
- App improvements
