What you get with HTC EVO 4G from Google I/O

Google-io-evo

If you decide to buy the HTC EVO from one of the Google I/O attendees selling it on eBay, you won't just be getting the country's first WiMAX smartphone before it's officially released on June 4th.

You'll also get free service until June 20th that includes the following:

  • Unlimited voice minutes
  • Unlimited 3G/4G data
  • Unlimited text messaging
  • Unlimited 3G/4G mobile hotspot

International calling is not included but what does come with the EVO is already worth $140 excluding all the taxes and fees that get tacked onto cell phone bills.

During the free service period, you'll also be able to contact a specialized customer care group that will answer questions because Sprint retail stores and general customer care won't be able access your account. After the free service, Sprint is even offering a special discount on Everything Plus Data plans to give you an incentive to stay with them. I don't know the amount of the discount yet, but I'll find out in a few weeks when I need to decide if it's time to start using my EVO as a WiFi-only MID.

Thanks, Chris!
