Flashlight Alerts app makes HTC EVO camera LED flash with incoming calls, SMS
Although I usually lay my HTC EVO on its back when I'm not using it, sometimes I put it face-down so nothing gets on the screen. As long as the phone is in normal ringer mode, I don't need to see the display turn on or the notification light blink to hear when an incoming call or text message comes in.
But what happens when my EVO is in silent or vibrate mode? Even though it's so easy to switch modes, I often forget to turn the ringer back on when I wake up in the morning, walk out of the movie theater, or leave a doctor's office. If I put the EVO face-down somewhere, then I can easily miss a call or SMS.
Not anymore! Thanks to a tip from G&E reader DV8, I've installed a great little app called Flashlight Alerts that will flash both LEDs on the back of the EVO whenever I get a phone call or text message. The flash is very bright, as I'm sure you know, so it's impossible to miss when the EVO is within view.
