Full root for HTC EVO 4G achieved, instructions available

Evo-full-rootThe day that HTC EVO hackers have been waiting for is here!

The guards surrounding the phone's NAND memory, which protected it from unauthorized write access to the system, have been annihilated and full root of the EVO has been achieved.

Yes, the EVO had been rooted before it was released and the recently released unrevoked provided one-click simplicity, but neither allowed users to write to the system from within an already running ROM. Today's full root achievement opens the doors to everything a rooter could ask for: getting rid of Sprint's preinstalled apps, installing recovery images, flashing custom ROMs, and of course loading apps that require root.

The instructions (Part 1 & Part 2) aren't for the faint of heart, but if you can't wait to storm the EVO and unlock NAND protection then you're probably already quite the warrior.

Thanks, Garen!
