Unboxing the Dell Streak

Dell-streak-unbox (1)

Since it would be pretty difficult to run a site about the Dell Streak without actually having a Dell Streak and I didn't want to wait for the US version's release, I ordered mine from the UK last week.

It's locked to O2 and obviously doesn't come with a US plug adapter for the wall charger, but neither "issues" are problems for me. I don't plan to use the Streak as a phone, but it can be unlocked with a Rebel Sim if I ever change my mind. And as for charging the Streak without a US plug? No problem. I just plug the device into my computer or a USB wall charger using the included 30-pin USB cable.

Now that that's out of the way, let's unbox the Streak so we can get this site going!

Packaging

The unboxing isn't very thrilling, I agree, but it's nice that the Dell is using compostable bamboo for some of its packing material.

Contents

In addition the actual device and battery, the Dell Streak comes with a soft drawstring pouch, 30-pin USB cable with clip, wall charger with foldable prongs and two regional adapters (UK and EU in this case), stereo headset with microphone and three sizes of rubber tips, a preinstalled microSD card (8GB/16GB/32GB, depending on which you one bought), and some paperwork not shown above.

Here's a closer look at the accessories:

It's a pretty complete set of items compared to what a lot of devices are bundled with these days.
