Dell Streak presale starts today for $300 with AT&T contract, $550 without

Streak-price1

I've been getting all kinds of tips in my inbox this morning that the Dell Streak pre-sale sign-up page has been removed and replaced by a message about coming back tomorrow to purchase the device. I still see the sign-up page, however, so perhaps someone at Dell prematurely pushed the Publish button.

Whoever did that must've also been in charge of posting the latest entry to Direct2Dell because that, too, is no longer visible when visiting the blog's home page. The direct link to the article is still fully functional, though, and I've also taken a screen cap (below) just in case it gets pulled at some point.

According to the mistakenly outed post, anyone who signs up for the pre-sale, which can still be done through today, will receive an email today containing a unique purchase link that will expire tomorrow. This link will allow people to purchase the Streak from Dell.com for $299.99 with a two-year AT&T contract and $549.99 off-contract (no mention of an unlocked version).

Not exactly the price many of you were expecting, I'm sure, but I'm glad Dell has stopped playing its silly game of silence and is finally revealing some information.

Anyone get their email yet?

Thanks, DoorOpen!

Update: Looks like this isn't happening today after all. Also, as someone mentioned in the comments, there is no unlocked version mentioned in the Direct2Dell post. I've corrected the title of this post (the URL is still the same so as not to break any links) and the details within.
