Good and EVO

HTC EVO 4G kernel source now available

  Evo-kernel-source

In the spirit of freedom and independence, HTC released the kernel source code for the EVO during the holiday weekend.

Developers have been waiting for this 74.5MB file because it gives them access to everything that makes the EVO, well, the EVO. Without the kernel source, the 4G radio, HDMI port, and other things that make the EVO unique are off-limits. So now that the source is out, devs can create better custom ROMs, apps, and mods for the community (that's us!) to enjoy.

Basically what happened over the weekend is that devs received all-access backstage passes. Now we wait for the lights to go down and the show to begin; it should be spectacular.

Thanks, John!
