Dell Streak product page on Amazon almost gets it right

Streak-amazon-eclair

A few days ago, the Dell Streak product page on Amazon had the device attributed to Samsung and was showing some information about the Captivate.

You still can’t order it from Amazon, but at least now the Streak is correctly listed as a product from Dell Marketing USA, photos appear where the “no image available” box used to be, and there’s an extensive product descriptions with key features, key specifications, box contents, and a description of the included AT&T services (AT&T and international 3G, AT&T Navigator).

The Captivate’s dimensions and weight are still listed in the “Product Details” section, though, and as you can see from the screenshot above, the Streak is erroneously described as being powered by Android 2.1. We know this isn’t true and elsewhere on the page it says the unit is “running the Android 1.6 operating system,” but Amazon shoppers who don’t know about the Streak may only read the bullet points or see the conflicting information and just assume that the more recent 2.1 is correct.

Either way, I hope someone fixes it and the prices get added soon.
