Multicon adds more icons to Dell Streak home screen
Looking for a way to fit more app icons on your Dell Streak home screens without using a launcher replacement app like ADW.Launcher?
There are a few ways to do it, but Multicon Widget by H9kDroid is my first recommendation because it makes the best use of space and requires the least amount of setup. Available for free in Android Market, Multicon fits four icons into the space normally occupied by just one icon.
To use it, all you have to do is long press an empty area on any of the Streak's home screens, then press Widgets followed by Multicon. Four placeholder icons will appear on your home screen; tap one to replace it with your desired app/shortcut. You can also leave any icon space blank (if you don't want/need all four) or fill it with a wireless toggle or an "edit mode" shortcut. Single icons can be changed at any time in edit mode, which is accessible via the shortcut or just through the Multicon app.
Multicon can make things look too cluttered if you use it for every single space on your home screen, but I think it's great when used wisely. It helps you keep more of your favorite apps and other icons on just one home screen, eliminating the need to swipe between screens or tap and scroll in the app drawer to look for what you want.
