Dell Streak coming to AT&T stores soon?

Attlogo This is nothing but a cold, hard rumor right now, folks, but I received a tip over the weekend from someone who wishes to remain anonymous that AT&T will be announcing the Dell Streak within the next week or so.

The carrier, as you know, has been acting as though the 5-inch tablet phone doesn't exist. It hasn't acknowledged the device in stores or on its website and didn't even preinstall any of its usual bloatware, so an official announcement, if true, would be pretty big news in the Streak world. It would also mean more exposure for the device, which could result in more sales and therefore more support from Dell and more development from the community. All good things.

My tipster has a family member who owns 7 AT&T stores and said yesterday (Sunday) that the carrier would be announcing the Streak next week. I assume "next week" means this week, but since some people count their weeks from Sunday-Saturday like a calendar, I guess there's a chance that the announcement could come next week too. There's also the possibility that it won't come at all, of course, but I wanted to throw it out there in case it does.

Considering that the Streak is coming to Best Buy next month, where I assume in-store activation with AT&T will take place, I don't think it's far-fetched to think that AT&T will have its own launch soon.

Thanks, tipster!
