How to send certain calls straight to voicemail on HTC EVO
It may not be as good as an actual blacklist app, but if you've got a few people in your life whose calls you never want to take, then you should at least be aware of the native "Send to voicemail" option on your HTC EVO 4G.
You can turn it on for anyone in your contacts list so that you never have to manually reject the call or listen to the phone ring until it goes to voicemail. The caller hears one ring and then gets sent straight to voicemail, while you hear nothing (regardless of your ringer settings at the time). You'll see a missed call in your notifications area and you might end up getting an actual voicemail, but both are easy enough to ignore and delete.
Here's how to send a call straight to voicemail:
- View the contact details of the person you don't want to talk to.
- Tap the "Send to voicemail" option in the "Information" section to turn it on.
- Tap it again to turn it off.
That's it.
Blacklist and call block apps have more features, sure, but this is already built into the EVO and really easily accessible. It's much more discreet and less likely to cause a fight too, as I'm sure your significant other wouldn't be too happy about seeing his/her name and number in a dedicated blacklist app.
