HTC EVO owner makes Carbon Fiery Cell back cover

Evo-fire-icycell GelaSkins and Skinit make some great looking vinyl art skins for the HTC EVO 4G, but G&E reader BJ decided to decorate his device's back cover himself. What makes his work particularly special is that it combines the projects of two other EVO owners: Hrshycro, the guy behind Carbon Fiber Skins, and joey3002, who is now selling IcyCell battery doors.

What BJ did, as you can see from the photo he sent me, is cut out a flame design from the leftover carbon fiber vinyl he had from Hrshycro's DIY project and apply it to one of the clear IcyCell back covers. And just like that, the Carbon Fiery Cell cover (as he calls it) was born. He didn't scrape any paint off the back trim, so that part is still black; leaving it black highlights the flames nicely, but scraping it off would make the mod even more unintentionally collaborative.

One of the nice things about using vinyl to customize and personalize your EVO is that it's inexpensive, easy to reposition and remove, and really only limited by your imagination. If you have a vinyl decal cutter (I suppose most people don't, but my husband does so it's become a common household item for me), you could really do some intricate work.

Thanks, BJ!
