HTC Notes widget keeps notes on HTC EVO 4G home screen

Evo-htcnotes-widget The HTC Notes widget isn't new to the EVO and there are other sticky note widgets available in the Market that don't take up an entire home screen, but if you've got a spare one thanks to something like Multicon or Launch-X Pro, then it's worth a quick look.

Although you can't adjust the font size/type/color and you can only view one note at a time, there are some niceties like:

  • being able to use the keyboard or your finger/capacitive stylus to write a note or draw on the screen
  • flicking the notes on and off screen to page through the stack

It's a barebones widget, though, so there's no share/send option, you can't change the background color of the note, and there's no way to tell how many notes are in the stack (I've actually got six in the screenshot).

Even so, I still like it. I don't care for the icon-sized widgets of some other sticky note apps because they encourage clutter and then leave behind empty spaces after you've taken care of whatever was on the note and deleted it from your screen. This one hogs a full screen, yes, but I'm only using 5 of the 7 that HTC Sense gives us so it's fine with me.

If you're interested, you can get the Notes widget by long pressing on an empty area on your EVO's home screen and tapping Widget -> Get more HTC widgets -> Notes.
