Rorschach test for Dell Streak users waiting for Android 2.2 update [Updated]
What do you see in this photo?
A tall serving of froyo that immediately makes you think of the official Froyo update for your Dell Streak or the tip of a unicorn's horn, which also makes you think of the official Froyo update for your Dell Streak?
What you see in a Rorschach test usually reveals something about you, but in this case, it doesn't really matter. Official Froyo for the Streak and a unicorn's horn are basically the same thing at this point. No one has seen the former, despite Dell's announcement of the update being released on Monday (11/15), and the latter lives in an imaginary world of castles on clouds and rainbow slides. In other words, as of today, there appears to be no evidence that either one exists.
Although I suppose it's possible that the update has been released but that every single person who got it simply isn't the blog-commenting, forum-participating, #dellstreak-tweeting type, who else but blog-commenting, forum-participating, #dellstreak-tweeting types even know what the Dell Streak is?
I'm not even waiting for the official update for myself, as I've been happy with DJ_Steve's Froyo builds for over a month now, but Dell's continued mishandling of the Streak and the negativity/hostility from users about what's going on is getting to me.
How are you doing?
UPDATE 11/19: What timing! The update has just been released for US beta units. Check this thread at MoDaCo for download links and feedback from users. Thanks, Emily!
