Froyo update for O2 Dell Streak rollout begins on Wednesday, OTA links available now [Updated]

Although some Dell Streaks owners with basebands ending in 21 actually already received the Android 2.2 OTA update over the weekend, the official update for O2-locked devices (21 baseband) is said to be rolling out on Wednesday, December 15th.

Those who already installed the update have confirmed that it's the same 12821 build that Dell just released for unlocked devices (00 baseband). Update: The official O2 build is 12792.

Whether this build will also be given to AT&T-locked Streaks next year remains to be seen; unless AT&T needs to approve the exact build before letting the rollout happen on its network, then I suppose there's a chance that a new build with additional fixes/tweaks could be pieced together before then. Time will tell.

If you have a Streak with a baseband ending in 21 and you don't want to wait until Wednesday (or later, depending on whether the update is being pushed out in waves over the course of a several days/weeks), then give these links a try from your Streak (you'll get errors if you access them from a computer):
