Go Launcher gives HTC EVO great features, asks for a lot in return

Evo-go-launch-apps If you don't mind a third-party home launcher for your HTC EVO 4G that can intercept outgoing calls, read your Gmail and text messages, and access contact data, then newcomer Go Launcher can make the loss of privacy worth your while.

It mixes together some of the best features of other launchers and sprinkles in some additional treats that make it a really strong home replacement app contender. Highlights include a customizable five-icon dock, gestures, up to 30 home screen previews, drag-and-drop home screen reorganization, home screen icon context menu, lots of settings, and a "function chart" (right) that combines a sortable horizontal app drawer, recent apps, and running apps list (the naughty t-word).

As long as the permissions don't bother you, it's definitely something you should at least check out on your EVO. And to be fair, Go Launcher isn't the only home launcher with such invasive permissions, but if it's the first one you try, then the list can be quite alarming (screenshot from my Dell Streak below).
