Pocket God puts island of Pygmies in your HTC EVO
And the list of popular iOS games ported to Android just keeps on growing!
The latest addition is Pocket God, which was released yesterday as a collaborative effort between Bolt Creative (the original developer) and ngmoco (the publisher). The game, which is available in Android Market for $0.99, basically lets you torture an endless population of Pygmies for no reason other than that you can.
You can fling the Pygmies into a volcano or at an iceberg, feed them to sharks, strike them with lightning, burn them with a lens, knock them over, skewer them with a spear, whip up a hurricane or tsunami, turn day into night, and countless other god-like things. You can do nice things for the Pygmies too like let them eat and dance, but that obviously gets old.
Pocket God was released nearly two years ago for what was then called iPhone OS and has become so popular that it has its own comic book and line of toys. It's gotten a lot of robust (and crazy) updates over the years, so the Android version is chock-full of features
There's really no gameplay to speak of and doing mean things loses its novelty after a while, but the game can be fun in quick bursts (a few minutes max) when you have some time to kill.
