Updated Thumb Keyboard adds support for tablets, great for Dell Streak

Looking for a fuller-featured alternative to StreakBoard, the split keyboard made for the Dell Streak a few months ago?

Then check out Beansoft's Thumb Keyboard (€1), which was recently updated to include better support for tablets and now works quite well with the Streak. Thumb Keyboard was originally created to improve thumb typing comfort, speed, and accuracy on phones with smaller screens (more info from my HTC EVO site here), but the new update (version 1.8.2) makes it a viable option on the Streak too.

Thumb Keyboard includes six different layouts, four themes, and a variety of other options that are all accessible by long pressing the key with the keyboard icon on it.

There isn't a layout designed specifically for 5" screens like the Streak's, but the layouts for the 7" tablet are a good fit. Layout 1 and Layout 2 for 7" tablets feature identical landscape keyboards (black theme shown above, Gingerbread theme shown below).

In portrait mode, however, the layouts are very different:

Thumb Keyboard has only been out for about a month and has already been updated several times. If you want to check it out on your Streak, you can purchase it for €1 (~$1.34) from the Market using the QR code or direct link below.
