Official: Dell Streak 7 priced at $199.99 with contract, available February 2nd

Streak7-tmobile-twitter Contrary to the last T-Mobile leak that pegged the Dell Streak 7's price at $299.99, the official on-contract price of the upcoming 7-inch Froyo tablet with its 1GHz dual-core Tegra CPU, HSPA+, 802.11n, and full-size SD card slot is actually just $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. Considering that the 5-inch Streak launched for $299.99, T-Mobile use of the words "amazingly priced" in Streak 7 promotions is certainly warranted.

As expected, the 7 will be available in stores this Wednesday, February 2nd, which is when I plan to pick mine up off-contract. T-Mobile and Dell still don't have pricing or availability listed on their Streak 7 pages (as I write this) but according to Engadget, the off-contract price is $450.

When T-Mobile released the Samsung Galaxy Tab last year, there was an error in the system that wouldn't allow off-contract sales on launch day (sales tax wasn't being added); some customers were able to buy it because the cashiers didn't notice (especially true when accessories were purchased), but I ended up having to go back the next day to get mine. I hope history doesn't repeat itself on Wednesday. The time zone in Hawaii already means that we'll be the last ones in the US to be able to buy the Streak 7, so I'd hate to have to wait any longer.

Anyone else planning to get one this week?
