Viliv Media Tablet Phone isn’t what we were expecting

Considering that "Media Tablet Phone" was only mentioned in an email and not on Viliv's official CES teaser, I guess we should have known not to expect a phone version of the company's P3 Prime or anything similar.

But who could have guessed that it would end up being the upcoming X7 Android tablet with some video and VoIP technologies mixed in and an optional DECT or Wi-Fi handset on the side?

The 2011 product brochure at the Viliv booth shows the Media Tablet Phone as a completely separate device (the capacitive buttons are rotated in landscape mode and there are some minor variations in the specs) and states that "carrier class video and VoIP technologies [are] integrated" and that a "digital voice codec and hard-wired echo canceling feature" are included to ensure the "high quality of voice."

But the display at CES makes it pretty clear that Media Tablet Phone = X7 Android Tablet + Internet Phone.
