Dell Streak gets sacked in Super Bowl party gift bag

Streak-terrell-owens There were probably hundreds of parties thrown for/by celebrities and VIPs during Super Bowl weekend earlier this month, but Style Icon Events' soirée in Texas was likely the only one that had the Dell Streak on the guest list.

The invitation-only Celebrity Lounge and Party was hosted by Modern Family's Sofia Vergara on February 5th and 6th, and attendees received a gift bag filled with more than $4,000 worth of goodies . . . including the Streak! That's Terrell Owens (wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals) posing with his new tablet on the right. You can see that it's got Dell's Stage UI on the home screen, which means it's running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and—since AT&T-locked devices are still stuck on 1.6 [Update: Not anymore!]—is of the unlocked variety. Anything less than that and Owens certainly would've said that Dell dropped the ball!

It may not have been an A-list party but hey, the Streak in the hands of any celebrity is media attention the device could certainly use. And at the very least, the event was a gathering of a bunch of new Streak owners.

Oh, and if you live in the US and are at least 18 years old, you can enter a sweepstakes held by Style Icon Events to win a celebrity gift bag. It would make sense to assume that it's the same bag that was given away at the Super Bowl bash since the $4K+ figure is mentioned on the contest page and in a company tweet, but according to the official rules, the prize contains "items similar to those given to celebrities at the…Style Icon event in Dallas on Feb. 5th and 6th, with a total approximate retail value of $1,000." Whatever the prize, the sweepstakes ends on Friday.
