Leaked roadmap shows 5″ Opus One with Honeycomb succeeding Dell Streak in 2012
Last year, StreakSmart received an anonymous tip about the Opus One, a next-gen Dell Streak with a 5" high resolution screen and a dual-core processor that was expected to be released in May 2011. The details came from a private presentation, where an image of the existing Streak was shown while the upcoming successor was being discussed.
Today, a leaked copy of Dell's tablet roadmap has surfaced that corroborates the existence of the Opus One and its 5" screen. It also reveals that the tablet will be running Honeycomb when it launches in the first quarter of . . . next year (when Android 3.0 will probably be outdated). There's no image accompanying the listing but its name and inclusion in the 5" row are unmistakable.
Interestingly, the current Streak in a single unlocked 32GB flavor is shown to be the only 5" tablet in the company's stable for the entire 2011, implying that the device isn't on its way out the door as Best Buy's new fire-sale pricing seems to suggest.
In 7" news, it looks like the Streak 7 will be getting an update (presumably of the Honeycomb variety) in Q3 of this year and will later be joined and/or replaced by 7" Honeycomb tablets currently codenamed Sterling and Silver Oak.
