Asus EEE Pad Transformer coming to Taiwan this Friday

transformer - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

The reason why Motorola was so desperate to get the Xoom to market that they shipped it off without all the parts or the proper software was that they only had a few weeks to make an impact on the market until it would have competition. This competition is coming this Friday, at least in Taiwan, in the form of the EEE Pad Transformer. To recap, the Transformer is pretty much identical to the Xoom where it counts; Android 3.0 Honeycomb, dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, 1280×800 screen, 1GB RAM etc. On top of that it has a keyboard attachment that essentially turns it into an Android netbook. The price is rumored to be starting at $399, which (if true) is really going to make a big dent in the sales of the Xoom. The US will see this tablet in early April, and Europe probably not long after that.
