Could WP7 overtake iOS by 2015?

Untitled-1 While Windows Phone 7 devices have generally been determined to have great potential, they're still not without their flaws. And when considered along the popular Android and iOS mobile operating systems, WP7 seems to just fade away in the dust for some users.

But that may change in roughly four years' time. The IDC has predicted that in the year 2015, Windows Phone 7 may actually overtake iOS' market share by roughly 5%.

This is big news because, as I've stated before, Microsoft was much too late to the (modern) smartphone game. However, if IDC's predictions turn out to be true, then I think that Microsoft will only take that as a challenge and push further into the mobile space.

Of course, this may not have anything to do with Microsoft at all. It very well may be because of the fact that Nokia is now Microsoft's main partner with the operating system, and Nokia has an incredibly large fanbase. Hopefully for Microsoft, that will translate into this prediction becoming a reality.
