Dell Streak no longer available at some Best Buy stores, on display to fill shelf space

Dell-streak-best-buy

Although the Dell Streak is still being sold at both Amazon and Dell.com, it hasn't been available to purchase online from Best Buy since around the time that it got reduced to $49.99 with an AT&T contract.

Some stores still have the black tablet in stock (the white ones are much harder to come by) but based on what I've heard from StreakSmart reader Thomas Hermann, it seems that once a store runs out, the chance of getting a Streak from there is pretty much gone too. According to a Best Buy employee in Wichita, by way of an inquiring customer (Thomas's child's teacher), the device is no longer available there and is only on display to fill shelf space. Ouch!

The Streak is still available in Hawaii, where I am, but is currently listed as unavailable in parts of Kansas, California, Missouri, Georgia, Colorado, and other states. Whether that status will change is unknown, but with CTIA Wireless going on next week, where Dell could announce something new (unlikely, perhaps, but not impossible), maybe that doesn't matter anymore.

[Best Buy] Thanks, Thomas!
