RIM BlackBerry Playbook will hit shelves with same storage capacities as iPad

Screen shot 2011-03-10 at 4.25.07 PM Up until now, the storage space varieties for the BlackBerry PlayBook were unknown. But thanks to a recent filing by the FCC, we now know that the PlayBook will come in 16, 32, and 64GB varieties. This puts it right up against the iPad 2 in terms of storage space.

Still, we don't know the pricing schemes for the device, which may be a deal breaker for some people. Of course, so will the quality of the finished product itself, which we are still waiting on seeing.

In my opinion, having many different varieties of storage space for this type of device makes a lot of sense, especially since this will be heavily marketed towards the enterprise market. Maybe you need a lot of storage for your job, for company-specific things? Or maybe your boss doesn't want you storing all of your Toto albums on their device, so 16GB would be fine. We'll have to see how this business model pans out when the device comes out at the end of the month.
