Businessweek today published an article about how Deutsche Telekom, owner of T-Mobile USA, may be in talks with Sprint about a possible merger. This would create the first CDMA and GSM carrier, if the deal goes through and the networks decide to keep their separate technologies.
The article also states that T-Mobile has been performing poorly for Deutsche Telekom and how they've decided that the carrier simply isn't viable enough for them to pour R&D money into anymore.
In my opinion, a dual CDMA/GSM network would be fantastic for travelers, since they would get the best of both worlds . . . across the world.
