Australians get to pre-order Galaxy Tab 10.1v
Pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v are being taken by Vodafone Australia, who has sent out emails to those who pre-registered their interest. Although, if you did pre-register you do not have long to make up your mind about purchasing one, as pre-orders opened on 18th April and close at 8PM 19th April AEST. Shipping starts the week commencing 1st May, and will be available in-stores and online from the 4th of May. Prices for the 16GB version popped up on Vodafone’s website, and the Tab is listed at $729AUD for pre-paid 3G connectivity (same price in Aussie Dollars for the iPad 16GB pre-paid 3G version). Data plans (12 month contracts) start at $39AUD/month for combined device payments and 1.5GB allowance of data but with a $259AUD upfront cost. There are many assorted plans available from Vodafone, but we are yet to see prices on other carriers or in other countries. Although it is worth noting that Telstra (the largest mobile carrier in Australia) is having a sale on the original Galaxy Tab, so perhaps not long until we see what the competition will do, in Australia at least.
