Well, that's all changed now. A member of the XDA forums, zdzihu, has announced the cracking of the X10's bootloader.
What does this mean for the once disappointing device? Well, on top of being actually useful, the X10 will also be able to receive many goodies like custom kernels and tweaks galore.
My thought on the feat is this: it shouldn't have had to have been cracked by a user in a forum in the first place. The idea of Android is openness; however, when a company locks down its relatively attractive hardware to running just what that company wants it to run, then the device isn't open. And because of that, the device shouldn't be running the most open of all the operating systems.
