"Moving Forward," Toyota releases skin for jailbroken iOS devices

Untitled-1

Let's face it. Major technology companies have historically hated the hacking community. Apple, for example, refuses to fix a jailbroken phone. Heck, at one point, it was even considered illegal

However, it seems that the same logic does not apply to the world's leading automakers. Toyota today released a skin that shows off a new Scion-branded car on none other than Cydia, the free alternative to Apple's own App Store.

Although there are no real stats on how many iOS devices are jailbroken, one can only assume that the number is very high. Toyota's decision to target Cydia in some of its marketing is quite telling and suggest that it may not be long before we see more large companies follow suite. Only time will tell how much farther companies will take it, and how Apple will take it as well.
