Wifi-only Galaxy Tab 7″ coming April 10th for $349
Just a couple of weeks ago, the news of a $349 brand name Android tablet would have made people jump all over the place, even if the thing runs Android 2.2, has only a 7″ screen and uses last year’s tech in terms of CPU speeds. However with the EEE Pad Transformer on the way for $399, the only reason anyone would go for the Galaxy Tab would be to get a 7″ device. It’s a major price drop, don’t get me wrong, but in this case it’s not as much “too little too late” as it is “still too much too late”.
It seems as though we’re getting to the point where entry level tablets are so cheap that anyone can pick one up. I’d personally like to see the 7″ Galaxy Tab hit $299 or even $249 as that would definitely make it a device to be considered, and perhaps we will see those prices eventually through dealer discounts. Either way, it will be out on April 10th- that’s 4 days from now.
