Could the Acer Iconia A100 be delayed because of its screen?

Ah, yes. That beautiful screen measurement of 7" for a tablet computer. We've seen it on the BlackBerry PlayBook, the HTC Flyer, and Dell Streak 7 (with this one actually running Honeycomb, but via a custom ROM), and we should start seeing it on tablets from other companies, as well.

Or maybe not. According to a new tidbit of information unearthed by Digitimes, Acer's delaying of the Iconia A100 may be due to that 7" screen. We knew that Honeycomb was mainly designed for 10" screens running at a resolution of 1280×800, but in my mind, I was convinced it would work on slightly smaller screens with slightly lesser resolutions, as well. And work without a hitch, to boot.

Unfortunately, neither Acer or Google will say anything about this situation. If you remember, the HTC Flyer also isn't running Honeycomb yet. That company has at least stated that the update is coming "soon," but if Acer's troubles are any indication, we might not see it anytime soon.
