Get 6-foot microUSB cable for HTC EVO 4G for $4.10 shipped

Evo-ebay-cable It may not be threatening to burn your house down, but according to a Best Buy phone specialist who spoke with G&E reader Persnlmgr, the microUSB cable that comes with the HTC EVO 4G has a 66% failure rate. Apparently, problems like the phone not charging properly or the USB connection/disconnection sound going off when the EVO is plugged into a computer can often be traced back to the cord (99% of the time, says the specialist).

Whether these statistics are accurate is debatable, but if you want to replace your cable anyway (or you just want a spare one), Persnlmgr recommends one that he bought on eBay four months ago that has been working flawlessly for him and many other EVO users. It's a gold-plated cable stretching six feet long (so you can "stand up and move around without unplugging it") with ballasts at both ends, and it's only $4.10 including shipping.

The cable quickly sold out when Persnlmgr mentioned it on XDA when he first got it, but now that it's back in stock, he wanted G&E readers to know about it before it was gone. Grab it at the link below.

[eBay] Thanks, Persnlmgr!
