GingerBreak roots official Dell Streak Android 2.2.2 update in one tap

Gingerbreak Dell may have failed to deliver an official Android 2.2.2 update to AT&T-locked Streaks the other week, but since the update really was pushed out to unlocked units last month, I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that the new build is rootable with a free one-tap app called GingerBreak.

Previous Streak builds could be rooted using similar one-click root apps like z4root, Universal Androot, and SuperOneClick, so being able to root (and unroot) the pocket tablet this easily is nothing new. I'm actually still getting questions about how to root 2.2.2, though, and GingerBreak may not be something everyone thinks of trying since it's designed for use with devices running Gingerbread (Android 2.3), so take this as confirmation that it's a proven way to root the new build.

GingerBreak is not available in the Market, so if you need it, you have to grab it from the xda-developers forum link below.
