GripStand and GripBase for iPad is a refreshing new case system
There are so many cases for the iPad (and Apple devices in general) out there that if you throw your wireless keyboard out the window, the URL it types when it hits the ground is likely to be a valid case manufacturer. Even modular cases is a rather populated segment at this point, so coming up with something new is naturally pretty hard. Newer Technology might just have done it though, with their GripStand and GripBase. The case isn’t anything overly clever, but the GripBase add-on is. Basically it’s a desk stand that you attach the case to, resulting in an iPad that has rather a lot in common with a computer monitor. It’s brilliant for using the iPad at a desk, using it as a small TV (while camping, for example), or maybe even as a cash register with Square’s new system. Compared to other stands it seems both more stable and more stylish, and at $40 for the bundle (or $30 for case, $20 for base separately) it is also extremely cheap.
