Head-tracking 3D demo app now available for the iPad

A while ago there was a video floating around showing “virtual” glasses-free 3D on the iPad. The system used head tracking to adjust a 2D image of a 3D environment depending on the movement of the head it was tracking. This demo is now available as a free app on the app store, letting you try the system out yourself. The app requires a device with a front facing camera, meaning iPhone 4, iTouch 4 or iPad 2. The effect is quite good for an early demo, and it’s a nice little tech demo to impress your friends.
