HTC confirms bootloaders will no longer be locked, EVO 3D sales undoubtedly to increase

Ah, the power of the community.

After thousands upon thousands of unhappy people took to Facebook, Twitter, and elsewhere to express their disappointment, anger, and frustration with HTC for locking down the EVO 3D—some even threatening to give their business to Samsung—the company has re-evaluated their policies and today confirmed that locked bootloaders are officially a thing of the past.

HTC's swift response to the public outcry is impressive, but their decision to keep bootloaders unlocked is absolutely amazing. I'm sure this policy reversal will result in thousands of additional EVO 3D owners who almost turned their backs on the company and opened their pockets to the Galaxy S II.

Welcome back, soon-to-be EVO 3D owners. Welcome back.
