Ice Cream Sandwich for Android announced for Q4 this year

- for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Not yet was officially let out of the bag, but Google has announced that Ice Cream Sandwich will launch in the 4th quarter this year, and will tie together Android on your phone, to Android on your tablet. These rumors have been circulating for a while, and it’s good to see that this little sliver of fragmentation will be taken care of in due time. The new update will be universal across the entire platform (phones, tablets and laptops), and will have features such as a re-sizable status bar, holographic UI, richer widgets, head tracking and more. Hopefully this takes care of the fragmentation issues that Android has, but time will tell for sure.
