My HTC EVO 4G has only been rooted for a few months, but I have stilll tried quite a few ROMs. No matter what I flashed, I always came back to CyanogenMod 7.

But then I found End of Days, a fantastic new ROM created by MagnusRagnarock, and I haven’t been back to CM7 since.

End of Days is based off CM7 but you get so much more. It’s got sort of a Honeycomb look to it, the screen transitions are epic, and everything just works. It offers great battery life, the GPS works better than it does in CM7, and it has a themed Market, themed Facebook and Twitter, Hulu, and all the usual root apps. Even the stock keyboard is modded; a sweet-looking themed Swype keyboard is included too. There’s also the new Google Voice with working video chat.

My only gripe is that in some of the menus, you can’t read the text because it’s black on black. An update is coming soon to fix this and it’s by no means a deal breaker for me because everything else is so amazing.

End of Days is a two stage ROM so be sure to read MagnusRagnarok’s instructions before flashing. Version 2 is coming soon but it will have to be pretty amazing to get me to switch. It’s that good. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I do.

Happy flashing!
